ICC Sydney welcomes two new General Managers to the team

ICC Sydney has announced key leadership appointments to support the ongoing success and strategic growth of the venue.

Rachael Carroll joins ICC Sydney as General Manager – Operations, and Daniel Baxter joins as General Manager – Sales.

Ms. Carroll, an experienced venue operations executive, will lead the operations team to deliver exceptional service and ensure the smooth running of all events and activities at the award-winning ICC Sydney.

Mr. Baxter has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality and events industry. As General Manager – Sales, he will lead the sales team with a focus on driving new revenue streams and partnerships for the venue.

ICC Sydney CEO Geoff Donaghy said he is excited to welcome Rachael and Daniel to the team.

"Rachael's extensive experience in venue operations and Daniel's expertise in sales and marketing will be invaluable as we continue to develop ICC Sydney as the leading international convention and exhibition center in the Asia-Pacific region," Mr. Donaghy said.

Ms. Carroll most recently held the position of Director of Operations at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) where she was responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the venue.

Prior to joining BCEC, Ms. Carroll worked for the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in various roles across operations and event management.

Mr. Baxter joins ICC Sydney from the Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour where he was the Director of Sales – MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) for the past eight years.

In his role at Sofitel, Mr. Baxter was responsible for driving revenue growth and developing sales strategies for the hotel's MICE business.

Prior to working for Sofitel, Mr. Baxter held various sales roles in the hospitality industry, including at The Langham, Sydney and Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

ICC Sydney is a world-class convention and exhibition center located in the heart of Sydney's Darling Harbour precinct. The venue features over 70,000 square meters of flexible event space, including Australia's largest pillarless ballroom.

ICC Sydney has welcomed over 1 million delegates since opening in December 2016 and has been recognized with numerous awards for its outstanding service and facilities.
