Aston Villa's Title Challenge Stumbles

Alex Moreno's Strike Halts Villa's Momentum

Aston Villa's pursuit of the Premier League title hit a roadblock on Saturday as Alex Moreno's second-half strike condemned them to a 2-1 defeat at Brighton and Hove Albion. The result leaves Villa in fifth place, four points adrift of leaders Arsenal with just six games remaining.

Villa's Bright Start Fades

Villa had made an impressive start to the campaign, winning six of their first eight league matches. However, their form has tailed off in recent weeks, with just two wins from their last five outings. Moreno's goal, which came just seven minutes after Ollie Watkins had equalised for Villa, proved to be the decisive moment.

Villa manager Unai Emery will be disappointed with his team's performance, particularly in the second half. The visitors were largely outplayed by Brighton, who were much more clinical in front of goal. Emery will now be hoping that his team can bounce back quickly and reignite their title challenge.
